Introduction
ASTEEL (Sabah) Sdn Bhd, a leading manufacturer, trader, and servicer of steel materials, was incorporated in 1977 in Kuching, Sarawak. The company was listed on the Second Board of Bursa Malaysia in 1997 and later transferred to the Main Board in 2003. In 1983, ASTEEL signed a joint venture agreement with Marubeni Corporation for the manufacture of galvanized sheets and in 2010 established a partnership with Nippon Steel Corporation for the supply of Hot Rolled Coils. ASTEEL expanded its horizons by setting up manufacturing plants in West Malaysia and became a leading integrated flat steel sheet manufacturer in the country.
